Homework

I have this class, "Technology in the Classroom."
I'm supposed to find my district's technology policy and post it to my blog, but I can't.
It can only be accessed by those within the system.  I think that's odd, since both parents and students can benefit from access.  I won't even have access until August 22, the first day of county wide teacher training.  But I am savvy:  I asked my admin for a hyperlink to fulfill my assignment requirement.
Enjoy!

Aeries Training

I rearranged my life for some computer training today.  I'll be honest:  I was NOT excited.
Boy was I wrong--this group at Tuolumne County SELPA is a HOOT! Most are finishing up their summer vacation and are very relaxed.  Some of us are fresh hires and are excitedly open minded.  Admin is playing with "snapchat."  while the trainer is fine tuning our individual understanding.  I'm doing all right :)
This reminds me of when I first began playing basketball +Eagle Point High School, back in 1985.  I went from wondering where I belonged to knowing I was part of a movement.  Yeah, it was just high school ball; but for the first time, my peers were happy that I was with them.  I actually had a purpose!  It helped that I was already 6'2".
Somewhere in the Old Testament I've read that, "without a vision, the people perish," or something like that. Emphasis on the opposite:  "with a vision, the people thrive!"
That's what I'm doing now; it's what we're all doing in this room:  thriving :)
Thank you, Jesus.

Joel & I have set a date . . .
. . . to hike up Clouds Rest, the peak hiding behind/above Half Dome:
August 19, the Friday before he ships out to Calvary Chapel Bible College--Honolulu.
Are you interested in joining us?
It's an arduous 12.2 mile out and back from Sunset Lakes Trailhead.
Check it out & let me know!

So it begins . . .

My life is changing.
I quit my job as the groundskeeper at Summerville H.S. and acquired the position of Special Education Teacher at Tuolumne County Adult Transition.
